O presidente dos EUA, Donald Trump, disse nesta segunda-feira (9) que está pronto para participar das negociações entre a Rússia e a Ucrânia.
O líder norte-americano também classificou a recente libertação de detidos pelos dois países como um “um passo muito positivo”.
“Acho que a troca de prisioneiros entre a Rússia e a Ucrânia foi um grande passo e um passo muito positivo. Se eles precisarem da minha participação, participarei”, disse Trump a repórteres na Casa Branca.
Trump já havia felicitado anteriormente a Rússia e a Ucrânia pela libertação simultânea de prisioneiros no âmbito do acordo entre Moscou e Kiev.
A libertação mútua de 35 prisioneiros por ambas as partes, 70 pessoas no total, ocorreu no último sábado.
Da Ucrânia à Rússia retornaram, entre outros, o chefe do portal RIA Novosti Ukraina, o jornalista Kirill Vyshinisky, enquanto os 24 marinheiros ucranianos presos em novembro passado por violar a fronteira russa no estreito de Kerch, bem como os condenados por o terrorismo Oleg Sentsov e Alexandr Kolchenko e os condenados por espionagem Roman Suschenko.
