The roundtable brought together Brazilian and Russian experts to discuss artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintechs, international payments, and new forms of business and technological cooperation.
The Brazil-Russia Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism and the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) held the roundtable “Brazil and Russia: New Opportunities for Technological Cooperation” on September 1st, focused on identifying concrete pathways to enhance cooperation between companies and institutions from both countries.
Conducted in an online format, the meeting gathered specialists and representatives from the technology, legal, and financial sectors to discuss opportunities and challenges in the areas of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintechs, international payments, innovation, and joint technology development.
The discussion also addressed mechanisms that could facilitate the entry of Russian companies into the Brazilian market and Brazilian companies into the Russian market, considering regulatory, legal, and financial aspects, as well as the particularities of each country's business environment.
Moreover, topics explored included new possibilities for financial operations between Brazil and Russia, the use of national currencies and technological solutions applied to international payments, as well as the potential of digital instruments and new models of financial infrastructure to support bilateral trade and investments.
The agenda also featured the presentation of the RIAC report “Brazil’s Information Technology Market: Entry Points for Russia,” a study dedicated to the Brazilian technological environment and existing opportunities for Russian companies interested in developing activities and partnerships in the country.
The report identifies different cooperation models, including pilot projects, joint ventures, shared research and development, and partnerships between companies, universities, and institutions from both countries.
For the Brazil-Russia Chamber, the technological agenda represents one of the areas of greatest potential for diversifying bilateral economic relations, allowing for progress beyond traditional sectors of trade between Brazil and Russia and fostering projects with greater innovation and knowledge content.
The roundtable's realization is part of the ongoing cooperation agenda between the Brazil-Russia Chamber and RIAC and opens the door for new meetings and initiatives aimed at bringing together the business, academic, and technological communities of both countries.
